Opening a Simple Device by Using the Device Name

The following example opens a CD audio device by specifying the device name.

DWORD dwReturn;

MCI_OPEN_PARMS mciOpenParms;

// Opens a CD audio device by specifying the device name.

mciOpenParms.lpstrDeviceType = "cdaudio";
